I lightly flat ironed the underprocessed areas which are now more than half way down the length of my hair. I then lightly flat ironed the very ends and then trimmed a little before taking a few pictures as I don't know when I will ever get around to either blowdrying and flat ironing or roller setting my hair to do this properly.
My ends would have looked so much better if I had gotten around to roller setting for this length check. |
These pictures look like a freakin' mugshot!!! |
My hair is alot thicker than it was in the first few months of my HHJ, it has also come along nicely as far as length is concerned. |
I will have to trim the ends some more and I will do this as required and also after my next relaxer. Right now as I am approaching 4 weeks post relaxer I am starting to think about going into another protective style. I will decide between kinky twists or crochet braids and then install the style I decide on although that is likely to be at either 6 or 8 weeks post in order to minimise breakage from the install.
Ciao 4 Now

ReplyDeleteThanks Amija!
I didn't really realise quite how much my hair had thickened up until I recently started bunning before my last relaxer. It's kind of snuck up on me though but I'm not complaining. My hair grows so much thinner in density around the sides and at the nape - so much so you can actually see the difference in denisty at scalp level!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sasha
At first I wasn't sure it had grown much - even when I compared the pictures side by side but I have since realised that it is now in a blunter cut and the sides are now making their way down to meet the back - despite my recent trims and cut.

ReplyDeleteThanks Ms D. I absolutely loved your high bun in your recent post. Your transition is going so well and the twists have definitely worked for you in terms of both thickness and length.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments. I am loving the improvement but really lusting after another long term protective style.....not sure which it will be yet but want to get it installed in two weeks time so I better get my thinking cap on.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I often forget how bad my hair was at the beginning of my HHJ. Taking pictures (although not always practical) has definitely been a great way to track my progress during my HHJ.

I know you're not supposed to compare your hair to other people etc etc etc however, when my hair gets to where yours is then I will be in hair heaven! Nice Flower Power Bun by the way.
