Tidying Up My Kinky Twists

"I tidied up my twists last week 31st May I had a night out planned for the 1st June and wanted my hair to look as neat as possible."

I tidied up the back first on 29.05.12 and then a couple of days later I redid the twists at the front hairline and along the centre parting during the evening of 31st May.  I periodically undo braids which feel a little bit too loose or overtaken by new growth for my liking.

The first picture shows the nape after it had been re-twisted and the picture on the right shows what it looked like beforehand.

Same as above (before on the left, after on the right).

Left = After, Righ = Before

This is a section of my hair which has just been taken out of a kinky twist.  I am really pleased with how my hair feels, moisturised and strong with little shedding and no breakage.  I hope this continues when I take out the twists.

All finished.  As you can see the front is not imaculate as I don't braid tightly, just tight enough :)  It doesn't look like this anymore though as it's been over a week since I tidied the twists up!

I am loving having my hair in these twists, so much in fact that I am planning to put in another set of twists with the exact same colour hair.  I will take these out in about 2 weeks time, wash and deep condition my hair with protein and then wash again a week later and put the twists back in again for another 6 weeks.  I will then wear my own hair for 2 weeks before relaxing and trimming.

This means that I will be in a protective style for my 2nd HHJ Year Anniversary.  But that is okay with me - I am loving the twists so much that i am willing to make the small sacrifice!  I won't lie, I am a little concerned about doing another long stretch and messing up my relaxer again by not pulling the relaxer down far enough and causing yet another under-processing fiassco.  I think this time round it should be easier to judge whether the relaxer is where it should be because I now use the half and half relaxer method.  This way, application will be more precise and if I notice any bits that aren't covered I can get to them quickly and in theory have enough time to smooth out any problem areas.  I will do a length check and trim during my relaxer day.

As a sidenote, it has dawned on me that I haven't washed my hair in almost three weeks!   I just don't fancy walking around with soaking wet hair when the sun is not shining.  Man I need to get my s**t together and just get it done!   I will see if I have enough time to do it in the morning, if not I will have to do it tomorrow evening when I get home from work.  I don't have any visible build up and my scalp feels fine and dandy so I could push it to the end of the week if I need to.
