Wash Day Diary 25.02.12

"My hair wasn't smelling too fresh.  I didn't want to attempt washing my hair with those in and risk the hair matting up and looking like some kinda crazy animal.  Besides, I was just so over them - yes, I know they were only in for 2 weeks but I just fancied a change!"

I was definitely looking forward to washing and deep conditioning my hair this week.  These are the steps I followed:

1.  Detangled my hair using AVJ and two strand twisted in three sections (one at the back, two at the front).

2.  Applied ORS Hair Mayonsaise mixed with Roux Porosity Control.  Covered with a cap and my scarf and left this in on overnight.

3.  In the morning, rinsed out the ORS mix then shampooed my scalp using Matrix Ultra Hydrating Shampoo.

4.  Cowashed with Nutrine Garlic Conditioner.

5.  Deep conditioned with Matrix Conditioning Balm mixed with Silk Amino Acid and AVJ.  I left this on for 2hrs.

6. After rinsing out the deep conditioner I applied my leave ins AVJ, Elasta H2, CHI Keratin Mist (trying to use this up), Bee Mine Deja's Hair Milk which I sealed in with Hemp Seed Oil.  I then applied Giovanni Frizz Be Gone Serum and when 60% dry I applied Organix Coconut Anti Breakage Serum.  I didn't detangle.  I just put my hair in two twists and wore my wig.  It was date night last night and I just couldn't be arsed with messing with my hair anymore than I had already done.

My hair felt lovely and soft after the wash.  Not detangling on wash day was a bit of a mistake.  Although I didn't have many tangles, I ended up having to make my hair damp again by using my moisturising spritz and more serum and hemp seed oil to make sure my hair was suitably moisturised and flexible before introducing the comb.

I am really fed up with my hair at the moment and can't wait to put my 2nd set of crochet braids in.
