This causes fungus to grow and then causes a smell of mildew.

To combat this, I would suggest regularly incorporating tea tree oil, coconut oil and other anti-fungal ingredients into your braid regimen.

However, most importantly I would encourage you to ensure that your braids are permitted to dry throughly after wash days either by air-drying or using a blow dryer. I went to bed last night with damp braids but only because I knew it would be hot today so I would be able to wear my braids loose so they could dry properly. I also recommend doing the same when it comes to moisturising your hair especially if you over wet your hair during moisturising with a water based spritz which is what i do.

Do whatever you can to discourage the growth of bacteria to reduce the mildew smell.

I hope that helps.

T
XxTraceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003257186578713107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8440199870993957183.post-83304121509433637702012-06-20T19:17:06.180+01:002012-06-20T19:17:06.180+01:00Why is it that my braids smell mill dewey after I ...Why is it that my braids smell mill dewey after I wash it??Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8440199870993957183.post-38304862880541776362012-06-13T13:06:59.623+01:002012-06-13T13:06:59.623+01:00@chi9ja

I only tried/purchased the shampoo a couple of years ago because I found it in Poundland. What do you use the pomade for, is it for slicking down edges etc?

Thanks for commenting!

TTraceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003257186578713107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8440199870993957183.post-30082963795306228532012-06-13T09:28:33.573+01:002012-06-13T09:28:33.573+01:00have you tried the toni & guy high maintenance...have you tried the toni & guy high maintenance pomade - jamelia. i love itChiomahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05807516011177045942noreply@blogger.com
